Send Aviation Teams Soaring in Women's Air Racing

The Air Race Classic is the epicenter of women's air racing, and we would like to enter two teams in this year's race. Funds raised will cover our supply fuel, flight costs, food, lodging, and training.

Our War Eagle Women team placed third collegiately last year and ninth overall (out of 77 teams). Collegiate teams that place high enough are eligible for scholarships.

Each race team of two pilots must fly VFR (visual flight rules) during daylight hours only and are given four days to make flybys at each en route timing point and the land at the terminus. The race route changes each year and is approximately 2,400 statute miles in length with eight or nine timing points.

Pilots range in age from 17 to 90 years old. They come from a variety of backgrounds, including students, teachers, doctors, airline pilots, business owners, professionals and air traffic controllers. 

Auburn University has been actively involved in aviation education for more than 75 years. Its central location is well connected to a hub of world-class aviation headquarters and organizations in the Southeast.
