Install Interactive Art Piece on Museum Grounds

The Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art is partnering with Auburn’s Industrial + Graphic Design program to create an interactive, functional public art piece specifically for the grounds of the museum.

This Tiger Giving Day, we need your help to raise $15,000 to create this piece and showcase design students’ work and creativity.

Our goal is to lay the foundation for a fun and engaging collection of interactive designs that complement the inspirational experience offered by JCSM and create collaborative, professional opportunities for Auburn students.

This initiative will be the first of what we hope will be many sculptural pieces that enrich the community through providing STEAM instruction (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics) and museum literacy opportunities for K-12 students, activating campus green space, and appealing to the imagination and playful curiosity of Auburn Family across generations.

Design work will be completed during spring semester with fabrication completion scheduled to coincide with the festivities surrounding the opening of the new Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center in August 2019 and Out of the Box: A Juried Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition at the museum in October 2019.
