Fight Breast Cancer with Gene Research

The Gene Machine travels all over Alabama, reaching out to individuals and family members whose loved ones have been affected by breast cancer. On Tiger Giving Day, help us reach parts of the state that we haven’t visited so we can continue to provide genetic screening and counseling to Alabamians.

The idea behind The Gene Machine is simple — when it comes to breast cancer, genetic testing saves lives.

The Gene Machine is part of a research project that seeks to find which genes may be linked to breast cancer risk. This information can save lives and is sadly lacking for women who are not of European descent. 

We provide BRCA1 and 2 gene screening and educate communities about cancer risk factors. We’ve met thousands of people at community events, cancer walks, health fairs, cancer luncheons and even parades.

We want to double our enrollment numbers and we need your help to keep our pink bus on the road.
