The COVID-19 pandemic and the closing of K-12 campuses around the nation has moved millions of students from traditional classrooms to online learning environments. This shift has highlighted the ongoing need for quality education resources in the home and for strong partnership between parents, guardians, and teachers.
Auburn’s College of Education has created a solution for the challenges many parents and students are facing. Through the development of a unique distance education curriculum, faculty and students plan to activate the everyday science, social studies, math, language arts and reading that exists in homes for as many students as possible.
In other words, we will prove that the “Home Works” as a great learning environment.
Auburn’s education students will create and teach the Home Works modules in simple, flexible lessons with accompanying videos for instruction.
Normally Auburn’s education students complete observations and experiential training in classroom settings. Since the coronavirus outbreak, that has not been possible. But with Home Works, Auburn’s students can gain the teaching and curriculum development experience they need to reach their educational goals.
The best part is that families around the nation can access the educational videos free of charge.
And you can help.
By supporting Home Works, you will help Auburn’s education students purchase the supplies they need to create lessons, including tripods, webcams, and other materials.
Everyone looks forward to the day when we’ll be back in our classrooms again, learning face-to-face. Home Works can help parents and students make the most of their online learning environment. And, by investing in Home Works now, you will provide resources for future learning challenges as well.
Please partner with us to make Home Works a reality.
