This Tiger Giving Day, the Campus Kitchen at Auburn University (or CKAU) needs to purchase a blast chiller. The blast chiller would be used to maintain and preserve the collected food, which would improve the overall quality of our meals.
The Campus Kitchen at Auburn University is a student-led volunteer organization sponsored by the Office of Public Service in University Outreach. Our mission at CKAU is to fight food waste and food insecurity, which we accomplish by picking up unserved food from the dining halls and restaurants on campus, packaging the food into individual meals, and delivering those meals to those in need within both the AU student body and greater Auburn community at no cost.
With a new blast chiller, Campus Kitchen can quickly reduce the temperature of food for refrigeration and save more unserved food by preventing harmful bacteria growth. We will be able to provide more food to families in need in the Auburn community and reduce food waste across campus.
Also, CKAU is always accepting gifts to purchase supplies needed for our daily operations, such as aluminum pans, plastic meal containers, and cleaning supplies.
Our volunteers consist primarily of students at Auburn, who serve the mission of the organization. All the while, these Auburn students grow as leaders and get an opportunity to live out the Auburn Creed.
Thank you for your support, and War Eagle!
