Keep BraveHearts On the Move

The BraveHeart Center for Place and Purpose (BCPP) is seeking your support to raise $15,000 to purchase an extended golf cart.

A golf cart would support and expand connections, relationships, and experiences on campus for our young adults with disabilities and student staff who all serve as community inclusion ambassadors.

A golf cart would provide much needed transportation support to continue and expand BraveHeart young adults’ engagement and participation in the Auburn campus/community experience. BCPP is a Health and Wellness, Inclusion-Focused Day Program for young adults with moderate-severe disabilities who serve as Community Inclusion Ambassadors (CIAs) in the East Alabama area, along with Auburn University student staff (interns, practicums, and volunteers) who serve as Community Support Coaches while building life-long connections with our CIAs.

BCPP is an outreach component of the Auburn University Social Work Program, in partnership with First Presbyterian Church of Auburn. Each semester, 20-30 Auburn students in internships, practicums, and volunteer roles learn and practice valuable skills while supporting CIAs in activities that enhance quality of life for the students and AU community.

Auburn undergraduate and graduate students from a variety of majors and colleges have developed more intentional and strengths-based communication and direct service skills for future work with diverse individuals through the young adults served through BCPP.

A cart for BraveHeart would support this University-Community Partnership (est. 2016) by expanding opportunities to build and enhance connections, relationships, and experiences throughout the Auburn campus.

BraveHeart cart would allow AU students to assist BCPP’s young adults in accessing opportunities to support work experiences, including our bi-annual campus photo exhibits, and to support continued engagement for BCPP Community Charity Drives (Fall –Trick or Treat for Cans and Spring-Warm Hearts Blanket Drive), and to support participation in campus community events, performances, and the Auburn Family!
