The Auburn University Libraries advances the university’s land-grant mission through excellent services, programs, collections, and spaces that empower scholarship and learning to transform lives in the Auburn community, Alabama, and the world.
In support of the University’s R1 status, the Libraries must provide a deep level of cross-disciplinary research to our students and faculty in crucial areas, such as intelligent solutions, health and well-being, sustainability and many more.
The Libraries seek funding to acquire updated e-books and digital resources, fostering digital education and bringing online studying resources that touch all subjects, from sciences to humanities, serving the entire University.
As these resources were selected upon consideration of requests made by faculty/staff and students, the purchase of these materials would directly enrich the research and study of faculty/staff and students. Further, the texts which are desired for purchase offer the most updated information across a multitude of disciplines, such that students and faculty from all academic departments will be able to utilize these resources.
With more than 227 electronic databases already available through the Libraries, the popularity of online resources among Auburn students and faculty has been consistently demonstrated. The purchase of more updated digital reference materials would enhance our goal to serve as the hub of Auburn’s intellectual resources and our commitment to be premier among our peers in the Association of Research Libraries.
These materials would increase accessibility by connecting the most up-to-date information to support the scholastic endeavors of our students and faculty on an on-demand basis.
