Upgrade Sewing Machines for Department of Theatre and Dance

Auburn University’s Department of Theatre and Dance has a long and stellar reputation as being the top theatre program in the state. In our department, we train students to be citizen-artists with an eye on both their own future and the future of our art form. The work they do in our shops makes its way onto our stages through our annual production season.

This Tiger Giving Day, we are asking you to help us provide our students in the Department of Theatre and Dance with new, professional-grade sewing machines.

 Your support and generosity will ensure our students are trained on state-of-the-art sewing machines used in costume shops on Broadway and beyond. With new sewing machines, students will have access to learning new techniques on reliable high-quality equipment. They will gain experience here that they will take into their lives as professional theatre artists.

Students graduating with a degree in Theatre and Dance from Auburn University have a reputation as talented hard workers, trained in the skills necessary to succeed in the upper echelons of both academia and the professional world. To keep our students performing at this level, we require industry-standard equipment and tools to develop their skills and produce costumes for our departmental season.  

As the Department of Theatre and Dance expands, so do our programs. Every year we are met with new students eager to learn and grow in developing their skills in costume design and technology. Our programs strive to provide those students with the knowledge, resources, and skills that are being used in high performing graduate programs and professional theatres.
