We Hit Our Goal Early! Let's Keep Going!

UPDATE: We hit our goal early—thank you! We are so grateful for the rapid response and participation in our Tiger Giving Day project. We have surpassed our original goal and have set a stretch goal to raise $12,000 from150 donors. Extending our goal will allow us to create an even better event and a tradition that could be sustained over multiple years!

Last year's Tiger Giving Day enabled the creation of the Donning of The Kente ceremony to celebrate graduates as they enter the next phase of their Auburn journey.

This year, we are creating a Pinning and Affirmation ceremony to welcome all newly admitted undergraduate and graduate students of the African diaspora as they enter Auburn.

Research suggests increasing the quantity and quality of interactions yields positive outcomes. In this ceremony, new students will be pinned by members of the Black Auburn family with ancestral symbols representing the attributes of the successful Auburn Scholar.

The Black Alumni Council continues to develop strategic interactions to support, develop and promote activities for student retention and recruitment. This event supports the establishment of the requisite connections with administration, alumni and faculty that accelerates student success, engagement and retention.
