Meet Small Animal Internal Medicine Needs with Ultrasound Machine

The Auburn University Bailey Small Animal Teaching Hospital is one of the nation’s leading medical facilities for animal health care. We provide comprehensive care for pets through more than 28,000 patient encounters a year, as well as hands-on clinical education for future veterinarians.

Our internal medicine service is one of 13 clinical services available in our teaching hospital. Animals that are referred to Auburn often have complex diseases that frequently require specialized diagnostics as a part of very involved workups. One of the most common noninvasive tools used to diagnose and direct treatment of our patients is ultrasound.

This Tiger Giving Day, we are raising funds to purchase an additional point-of-care ultrasound machine. The purchase of this machine will enable our Internal Medicine service and other specialty services to ensure the patient’s needs are met more efficiently and allow for a faster start to a treatment plan.

If we surpass our goal, excess funds would be used to purchase additional ultrasounds for other services within the Teaching Hospital.

It is the generosity of friends like you who make a difference in the lives of everyone here at the College of Veterinary Medicine including faculty, staff, students, clients and, most importantly, the animals. Thank you!
