New Markers for Library Whiteboards

Auburn’s library is a place where students and faculty from all of Auburn’s colleges and schools come together to collaborate, study, and relax after classes. The library provides for the many needs of Auburn students – from coffee, to project and paper resources, computers, and the ever-popular rolling whiteboards. After the last Tiger Giving Day, we were able to purchase more than 20 new whiteboards for students to use. These whiteboards are blank canvases for our students’ creativity and success.

As we add more whiteboards to our libraries, we create a need for more markers. Each year, the library spends about $3,000 to replenish the marker supply that students use while the library remains open 24-hours a day. It isn’t uncommon for a student to return a bag of markers that they have checked out with the majority of them dried out and unusable. Sometimes the circulation desk runs out of markers to let students check out because of the high demand.

This Tiger Giving Day, our goal is to raise $12,000 and stock enough markers for the duration of an undergraduate student’s time on campus.
