We are seeking to raise at least $10,000 to send underprivileged or underrepresented children to Vet Camp in 2017.
Auburn Vet Camp is a series of three separate summer programs aimed at grades six to eight, nine to eleven, and high school seniors who are interested in learning about veterinary medicine while participating in fun, educational activities.
While attending academic sessions at the College of Veterinary Medicine, students learn about the diverse professional career options in veterinary medicine, receive hands-on instruction by CVM faculty, staff and current veterinary students and tour a number of academic facilities on the CVM campus.
Veterinary medicine is much more than loving animals, and the young students who attend Auburn’s Vet Camp get to see that difference. Camp allows them to understand that there is a demanding science-based curriculum and time commitment involved in veterinary medicine education and the profession.
Vet Camp is competitive: eligible students must have a B grade-point average and submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher or school official, a copy of school transcripts with a signature of verification from a school official, and a personal statement from the student.
Any amount helps! Please give today and help ensure that everyone who aspires to attend Vet Camp be afforded the opportunity in 2017.
Help students entering grades 6-8 build their knowledge and love of veterinary medicine.
Camp participants entering grades 9-11 gain valuable experience, hone skills and make career choices during Vet Camp. Help them be successful.
High school seniors have the drive to achieve, preparing themselves for college and veterinary programs. Give them that last push as they begin their veterinary science career.
Help veterinary students teach what they’ve learned in the first two years of veterinary medicine education and instill passion in youth.
