Light Up the Arboretum
Each week, at all hours of the day, more than 900 students and members of the public walk through the Davis Arboretum on Auburn's campus. At night, however, visitors are in the dark.
In an effort to brighten Auburn’s public garden, the Arboretum would like to install low voltage, in-ground LED lighting in some of its more popular areas, including the space around the pond. The lighting will serve multiple functions on the grounds. It will:
- Highlight our collections during evening events, such as community outreach and educational functions, weddings, and picnics
- Increase safety and security for those walking through the garden in the early mornings or late afternoons and evenings, especially during the winter months
- Provide the Davis Arboretum with a larger sense of presence as people pass by
Your support for the Davis Arboretum Lighting Project through Tiger Giving Day will make Auburn’s public garden better equipped to serve as an event space, which help generate revenue for making further, much-needed improvements to the grounds.
