Strengthen the Wheelchair Basketball Team

WOW.  THANK YOU! We set out yesterday hoping to get equipment so we could get stronger in the weight room, but you are making us so much more than that. When we go into the weight room to train, you’ll be there with us. When we push ourselves further than we thought we could go, it will be because you stood behind us. You’re the one helping us put points on the board every time we sink a basket, but then you kept going.  You put us nearly $6,000 over goal, setting us up with funds to support scholarships for the student athletes on the team.  As a coach, I know that scholarships help with recruiting, but more than that, they get our student-athletes an education that prepares them for their careers and the rest of their lives.  I can’t thank you enough.  We are just amazed at the support and can’t wait to get to work showing you how grateful we are. You’ve put us over our goal early – THANK YOU!  Because of you, our athletes will be able to train harder so they can play harder – more reps in the weight room will put more points on the board.  Your support is making that a reality.

But the day isn’t over yet!  And you can still help the team recruit and retain the most talented student athletes in our sport.  Funds raised over the goal will go into our scholarship fund to assist our student athletes.  Your gifts can give our student athletes an Auburn education while they make our team more competitive.

Last Tiger Giving Day, donors like you helped outfit Auburn's Wheelchair Basketball team with specially tailored chairs and gear to give us the edge we need on the court.

This Tiger Giving Day, we’re looking for adaptive training and conditioning equipment to make sure we’re fully prepared to be our best when game day rolls around. As Auburn athletes, we know that building strength and endurance will make us a more effective, powerful team.

Using traditional equipment can be challenging and time-consuming for wheelchair athletes. Fortunately for us, equipment that has been adapted for our use is readily available.

We’ve prepped a space and worked with a leading supplier to identify the machines our players need to take Auburn’s team to the next level. 

Auburn men and women believe in hard work. With your help, these Auburn men and women will have access to equipment uniquely designed to work with them as they train for game day.
