Music technology is one of the most exciting segments of music education. Auburn's Department of Music wants to offer new degrees and coursework in the fast-growing area of music technology.
This Tiger Giving Day, your support will help us create a state-of-the-art recording studio to support this initiative.
The first step is to outfit two existing rooms in Goodwin Music Building with audio equipment. In this space, students will complete work associated with new coursework and a new degree concentration in music composition and technology.
The equipment needed includes computers, audio interfaces, monitor speakers, cabling, midi keyboards, audio software, virtual sound libraries, desks, and chairs.
We want to create a complete and comprehensive music technology program, including elective coursework for non-music majors as well as music degrees in music composition and technology, pop/commercial vocal performance, music business and industry, and audio engineering, and the eventual construction of a state-of-the-art recording studio to support these programs.
This project is the catalyst for that entire vision.
Your gift on Tiger Giving Day will support our efforts to offer coursework and a new degree concentration (composition and technology), recruit new students and faculty to the Department of Music, and help us begin the realization our long-term goal of becoming a leader in the area of music technology.
