Our Raptors Need a Food Freezer

Tiger Giving Day has ended, but you can still give to the Southeastern Raptor Center.

Auburn University’s Southeastern Raptor Center is part of the College of Veterinary Medicine and provides care for more than 300 raptors annually. Our mission is to provide the highest quality medical care and rehabilitation for wild raptors, support raptor conservation efforts, expand the public’s knowledge about raptors, inspire their passion for raptor ecosystems, and to embody the Auburn spirit.

One of our critical needs is a walk-in freezer to provide a centralized location for raptor food storage.

Each year, we order more than 12,000 pounds of food at a cost of over $70,000. Because we do not have one large freezer, we store this food in four different freezers in two different buildings. A walk-in freezer will we free up much-needed space in our buildings and reduce the frequency of food orders.

Our work has helped more than 1,500 raptors get released back into the wild. We also bring Auburn fans one of the best pre-game traditions in all of college football!

Help us get the food storage we need to better serve our raptors. Thank you and War Eagle!
