Provide Foreign Language Interpreters for Autism Families

The Auburn University Regional Autism Network (AURAN) provides professional services and training for those affected by autism and other developmental disabilities across 20 Alabama counties, most of which are rural. As need for AURAN's services grows, so does the number of non-English speaking families seeking AURAN’s help for their loved ones. 

Help serve these families impacted by autism by helping us provide foreign language interpreters.

Although we have a Spanish interpreter on call, our growing need is for Korean, Chinese, Mam, and other language interpreters. Interpreters are needed for trainings (mostly via Zoom), one-on-one sessions, and to translate documents. 

Your gift will make a true difference in our ability to serve all families in our region impacted by autism.

AURAN provides direct assistance to families, technical consultation to practitioners, and professional training. We help with questions, concerns and resource needs regarding a family member, friend, client, patient or student with diagnosed or suspected autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. Research shows a family’s access to service like ours is a gamechanger for their autistic or developmentally disabled family member’s outcomes. Professional intervention is also essential to decreasing the likelihood that a person with autism will need residential care in the future.

Please consider a gift toward our goal of $10,000 to provide translators for AURAN families. Interpretation services cost AURAN approximately $850 per month. Meeting our goal ensures we can continue, and enhance, our interpretation services for families who need our help in the coming year.
