Create a Socially Responsible Supply Chain Course

Join the Harbert College of Business this Tiger Giving Day and help develop a supply chain leadership course emphasizing how companies can positively impact their communities.  

We are poised with the exciting opportunity to support the development of a new course in the Department of Supply Chain Management. Gartner recently reported that the Harbert College of Business Supply Chain Management program is currently ranked 4th for North American Undergraduate Supply Chain Programs. 

This new course is designed to provide a platform for students to learn servant leadership, use their professional business skills, and practice social responsibility through their supply chain management education. 

Parents in underserved communities often lack the resources to continuously provide their children with a basic necessity – shoes for growing feet. Through a partnership with a non-profit organization, Samaritan's Feet, the goal is to launch and sustain the Shoe Closet initiative for children in the Auburn area. 

The course will allow students to put their skills into action by providing children in a local school with athletic shoes on an as-needed basis through procurement, inventory, fulfillment, and delivery — essential activities in supply chain management. Throughout the course, students will also engage with these children and offer encouragement for them to be future Auburn Tigers.  

Today, we are asking you to invest in developing this course for our supply chain students so they can understand how to sustain a profitable business by supporting the communities in which it operates.
